Once I had made my new compound clip for my background I then wanted to put it on a loop so that it would be the same the whole way through my video, with this in mind I worked out that I would also need to retime the compound clip.
Once I had everything I needed I clicked "Window", "Retime" and then "Custom Speed..." This allowed me to set up the time i wanted the clip to last.
In the box it brought up I then went and clicked on "duration" so I could set how long I wanted it for, baring in mind that the longer I had the clip running, the slower the clip would be. For the first attempt I set it for the full length of the song, 3:15:23.
