1- week one
We looked at a variety of music videos from different genres as well as past A2 music video examples. This was to help us start to think about our own ideas/ develop on previous ideas that we had come up with over the summer.
2- looked at music video conventions which helped us to again develop on our ideas. Our aim for the week was to finalise our individual ideas and outline this in a simple video on final cut to present to the class in the form of a pitch.
3- we each pitched our ideas and decided to work with the local band Sly Antics as they would be willing to let us use their track Lights go down and also would be convincing in the video.
October- We have looked at influences such as The pixies and Depeche mode, we like their use of masks and variety in speed within their shots. Also we have looked at the new french wave which influenced Depeche mode. We have also finalised our idea. Our original plan was to shoot most of the video on October 31st throughout the day, but after a unforeseen communication error within the band we have had to reschedule for another date. We're hoping to get some of the filming done on the 7th of November.
November- After getting almost all of the filming finished in one day last weekend, we only have a few minor scenes left to film, the flyer scene and them some urban shots of Leeds which we hope to get down within the next couple of weeks. We have started editing the shots and now need green screen footage which we will hopefully film in December.
December- We met up with the band again to film green screen footage. We have all our needed footage. Now I am starting to think of ideas for the digipak and magazine adverts. Most of the editing is complete.
